Halloween Main Event: Trick or Treat!!

Wells woke up this morning SO excited that Halloween was here!

We began the official festivities this afternoon, and our first stop was Maryland Avenue - Aunt Ann & Uncle Pat's street.

Ann, Pat, Mom, GG, Wells and Dad (and yes Daddy has on a Spiderman costume)

Wells loves Mo the dog (aka MoMo)

Then on to Pinehurst Place - this is the third year the moms on our street have put together a block party for Halloween.  We barricade the street, put out the bounce house, and set up lots of fun activities for the kids.

And then finally - trick or treating!

We had so much fun and Wells got plenty of good candy (along with a stray apple - nice!).

So HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  It has been a great one.

And one final post for the grandparents:  a quick look at Halloweens past:

Falloween Party at School

This morning Wells had a party at school to celebrate fall and Halloween.  Mommy went to have lunch with him, enjoy their circle time, and help with a craft.

We made skull necklaces & Frankenstein bracelets

And then we gave out favors - pumpkin sippy cups per Wells' request.

Halloween Pre-Game: Monday Playgroup

Halloween may not officially be here until this weekend - but Wells has his fill of parties between now and then.  Yesterday we had our Monday playgroup party.  He was not happy about putting on his costume at first, but when bribed with cookies and treats, he was on board.

Group shot (definitely not the best, but you get the idea...lots of squirmy 2 year olds in costumes)

With Carson (Alice in Wonderland)

Sweet Wells - happy & relaxed once he's disassembled the majority of the costume & rubbed off Mommy's face-painted eye patch.

little miss harvey

I spend so much of my time and attention these days on Wells and all that he has going on, I sometimes forget about the sweet baby in my belly.  But I was at my bible study this morning, and looked over at a new mother who had a little girl, probably just a few weeks old, sleeping on her chest.  It was so precious and made me very excited for our daughter to arrive.

Baby Girl Harvey at about 18 weeks

So despite everything going on, we can't wait to meet you!!  We know you'll complete our family.  Just about 16 weeks to go!

More Fall Fun

Our church/Wells' pre-school hosted a Fall Festival on Saturday, complete with bounce houses, balloon animals, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and lots of other fun activities.  GG was in town, Daddy came, and lots of Wells' friends were there too.

Can you tell mom was in charge of flowers for the festival?  Here is Wells earlier this week with the 20+ mums before they had to be delivered to the church.  He was a big help with watering.  Not so much with the loading/unloading...

And today Wells helped mommy make a 'hayride' in the front yard.  We had a great fall weekend!

Sweet Little Man in His Swing

Yesterday afternoon we had perfect fall weather.  Wells couldn't have been happier to be outside.  I caught a few good shots of him in his swing:

Sweet.

Happy.

Weekend Away

We had a wonderful weekend in the mountains with our friends, the Dumlers.  Wells was in heaven spending a full weekend with his girlfriend Carson (and mom and dad had a great time too).  We enjoyed the gorgeous fall weather, went to a vineyard festival, and the dads even managed to squeeze in some golf.

Soccer Shots

Wells is doing Soccer Shots, a mini version of soccer, at a park near our house every Wednesday afternoon.  He is loving it!

Scoring a goal!

They did their first scrimmage this week - jerseys and all!

Welcome Fall!

I am so glad fall is finally here!  It's always been my favorite time of year, but this year especially I appreciate its presence and the cooler weather it brings.  Being pregnant during one of the hottest summers on record in Charlotte has not been fun.

Plus I LOVE seeing Wells get excited over the first signs of fall - pumpkins, costumes, and candy.  All very exciting things for a 2 year old!

The Farmers' Market put out the pumpkins this past weekend- and we were there!  This will be the first of many trips to go look at the pumpkins (and yes, he immediately went for the painted "Go Tarheel" ones - and insisted on taking two of those home).

When I saw this picture it occurred to me that he looks like such a big boy.  So I went back and it's hard to believe how much he's changed.  Check out years past:
