Happy Birthday!

I hope my boys had wonderful birthdays.  Lord knows we've been celebrating all week :)

Wells woke up on his birthday to a new Nintendo Wii and some Skylanders (this is the hot thing for boys his age - I am still trying to figure out what in the world they are).  I can't believe we've moved so quickly from sweet little boy things like Thomas the Train to video games.  But so is life.  Especially life in the 21st century.

We celebrated on May 15 with GG:

You think Caroline likes a party??

Then we celebrated with playgroup and the Game Truck.

Mailing his invitations:

There was nothing remotely cute about this birthday (Sponge Bob, Spiderman, Skylander).  I let W pick out everything at Party City and cupcakes/cake came from Harris Teeter.  I did not consult Pinterest, and I'm pretty proud of myself.  It made things so easy.  And he LOVED every last bit of tacky that came of it.

The Game Truck arrived yesterday for W & friends and it was a huge hit:

Five & Thirty Five

Wells and Daddy are celebrating birthdays today.

I think about my sweet husband turning 35 and am overwhelmed with happiness and pride.  He is the best man and has grown so much personally, professionally, and spiritually since I met him at 22.  Thirty five looks great on him.

At five, Wells is funny, sensitive, and thoughtful.  He wakes up every morning at 6 on the dot and is ready to start the day.  He loves school and has a had a huge year - he now signs in every day by writing his first and last name and can spell and recognize many words.  He loves seeing his friends, playing with grandparents, swinging, and riding his bike.  He is usually very kind to his sister, even when she's not so nice to him.  He is excited about tennis and swimming this summer.

I love them both to pieces.  These boys make me so happy.

Wells' School Party

W celebrated with Ms Neilsen, Ms Beckert and friends today at school:

Caroline joined us too.  She's not one to miss a cupcake opportunity:

Happy 5, sweet guy.  We love you more than words could ever describe.
