Comfy Cozy

We have been loving our time at home over the past week.  Spending time together inside since it's freezing outside!

Nothing like a little cold weather to make you want to spend time at home in front of the fire, watching TV in your PJs:

And then sleeping soundly in your warm bed!  (and yes, Caroline sleeps with a bow in her hair and approx 5-10 back up pacis scattered throughout her crib :)

Pigskin & Pigtails

W and friends had a football playdate on Saturday afternoon:

Here they are practicing a few weeks ago (in the house, none the less):

And then Miss Caroline - her hair is getting so long and pretty.  We decided to try out pigtails:

Inaugural Weekend

Matt and I went to Raleigh again this weekend to attend some special events for Ann & Pat.

Our side of the family, the Gordons, had a family dinner Thursday night.  Their gorgeous new dining room was quite the setting:

Ann & Pat's neices and nephews served as honorary hosts for Rock the Ball, an event targeting his younger supporters.  Here's the whole crew backstage:

This is the Pat we know - he is hilarious:

Friday night we went to the Inaugural Ball:

I was so honored to help my Aunt Ann get ready for such a special night.  She stole the show and was absolutely beautiful.

Oh and the Avett Brothers were great too!
Saturday we attended the Inauguration in front of the NC Capitol before heading back home:

With Matt's parents, the Harveys

Such a special weekend - loved spending time with family and sharing in this.

NC's 74th

Aunt Ann and Uncle Pat were sworn in as North Carolina's 74th First Lady and Governor.  We couldn't be more proud of them and were happy to be in Raleigh to help them mark the occasion.

Wells and Caroline were able to attend a family church service, followed by the swearing in at the NC Capitol, and a luncheon afterwards.  Pretty special that these two got to be a part of this little piece of history...

I hope Caroline will cherish this sweet pic.  She's walking into a luncheon at the Governor's mansion with her GG.  I can't help but think how much my grandparents would have loved this.

Ohh, and maybe I forgot to mention another huge hightlight of the weekend...getting to stay with our friends, the Lewises, in their new house.  Our kids are the perfect boy-girl/girl-boy little match set.  They love seeing each other:
