Crabbin'
One of W's favorite activities has been crabbing. He likes checking on things regularly to see what's been caught and is awfully proud he can pull the traps up all by himself (well, almost...). Lucky boy has some uncles who like to help:
Caroline and Ollie watched them pull out the crabs, too.
And the boys did some serious fishing. Uncle Beau cleaned the fish and crabs and we even had some for dinner:
After the boys caught some ghost crabs on the beach at night, W got to see them get released the next day and chase them around with Grandaddy:

DeBordieu
It's the Harvey family beach week:
Salt and sand from wake up time until evening - and we've been loving it:
Caroline and Mommy seem to take the same things out to the beach. Necessities include over-sized shades, cold drinks, and quality reading.
Swimming with Daddy
Mommy & C
Riding out the waves with Grandaddy
Finding his first starfish
Enjoying her pool
Sandcastles with Kacky
Daddy & Uncle Beau burying Wells
....it's everywhere!
But sweet Caroline must be a fan because she took her much anticipated first steps yesterday in the sand. I'm hoping to catch it on camera soon!

VBS
Wells went to Vacation Bible School this week at Christ Church and the theme was being "Zapped" by God's love. It was a great week for Wells - he learned lots of stories and songs (still singing them while he falls asleep)...
Green day (Message: "God wants to do something with me that's bigger than just me")
Orange day ("What is important to Jesus is important to me!")
Wells' class
And today was yellow day "When things get hard, don't forget what you know about Jesus" (I missed blue somehow but I do know it was about depending on God's power in your life.).
Here is W after VBS at Clt Peds for his 4 year checkup:
40.4 lbs and 39.25 inches of wonderful Wells!

It's Been an Ice Cream Kind of Week
I started to post a hodge podge of pictures, and then realized we started and ended our week with ice cream. 'Tis the season, I guess:
Ice cream truck came to Glendale again this year :)
W with his choice - it was melting fast so he wanted to eat in the shade so the sun didn't get to it
Wells had camp this week. They focused on the Olympics and each class represented a country. Here he is sporting his gold metal (Ireland tshirt, obviously) and the Irish flag!
Precious Caroline somehow manages a smile, even while sick at the pediatrician's office. Poor girl spent her week with double ear infections and a nasty cold that apparently has been all over Charlotte despite the 80 degree weather.
Better today - C and I loving the new Greek fro yo at TCBY!

At the Playground
C met up with some friends at the playground:
Lila, Caroline & Virgina
Sweet in the swing
There would be even more to do at the playground if she'd get up on her feet... Let's get walking, Caroline!
