Santa came!! And our silly elf, Junior, drank the Capri Sun! Wells got just what he asked for from Santa - a Koko (Chuggington) flashlight and Scooby Doo crocs.
Letters from Santa
Wishing Jesus a happy birthday
When Caroline woke up, Wells brought Santa's gift to her - a new baby doll.
GG, Aunt Ann, & Uncle Pat came over for Christmas brunch and more presents! No pics but there was a Sponge Bob Snuggie involved...
And here's more of the present fun:
Monkey Joe's? Nope - this is our playroom - with Wells' new bouncy house inside (it was a little cold to set up outside)
Bouncing in his PJs
And Miss Priss - with her new baby dolls and tea set
Cute C. All she really wanted for Christmas were two front teeth - she's been working on them forever. Hate that Santa couldn't deliver on that one.
Off to run errands - with her new purse and cell phone!
The Harvey tradition is a big Christmas Eve celebration - complete with dinner, the Christmas story, and present opening. All 6 kids were able to make it this year (+ spouses + now 3 little ones!).
Aunt Shelton and Caroline
Christmas dinner
W in his crown
Charlotte & Wells during the music portion of the program
Wells & his Uncle Beau
He loved all his gifts - here he is with a Lightning McQueen tent and a scooter!!
He got a Nerf gun (as big as he is - and he loves it!)
Daddy getting iced
All the girls + Wells
With cousin Ollie
Whole crew
Caroline and her Uncle Chip & Grandaddy - working on some crawling...
And earlier in the day, Wells got ready for Santa by spreading reindeer food
And he put out cookies (for Santa) and carrots and apples (for the reindeer). He also thought Santa would appreciate a Capri Sun instead of the standard milk.
I thought we'd make it to Christmas before Caroline started crawling. But she beat me to it - by 2 days.
There's been a lot of scooting and rocking over the past month, but today was the day that made it official: we have a crawler.
What was the ultimate incentive to get up and go??
Her brother's new Lego set. It was apparently just too much for her...she HAD to get her hands on those Legos:
And her other favorite things are my curtains. She's been crawling her way over to them today to play peek a boo (and grabbing and pulling in the process):
Little stinker.
We are proud of you, Miss Caroline! These are your first 'steps' toward independence.
We are loving the Christmas season. Here's what we've been up to this past week:
Neighborhood Secret Santa - W decorating cupcakes
At the Santa Brunch in Gastonia on Sunday with Grandaddy, Kacky, Charlotte & Chip (I am 99% sure this is the exact same Santa we saw at Myers Park last week - he must be a busy guy on the Santa circuit)
Mommy & C
Caroling with the Pinehurst Place kids
Daddy & Caroline hit a few houses too
Wells still loves blow ups (his favorite is the train on Red Fox - it has an elf that pops out of the caboose - we drive by there almost EVERY day)
PJ time
Yesterday our friend Carson had us over to decorate Christmas cookies
Wells and his goods
And today we went uptown with friends to see the Singing Bears at Founders Hall...
...along with the amazing gingerbread house at the Ritz.
Our spirits are bright and we are very merry - and are so looking forward to Christmas this weekend!
Aunt Ann invited us to the MPCC Santa Supper - this is by far Wells' favorite Santa experience. S arrived via helicopter:
And Wells was literally jumping up and down with excitement!
Sweet Caroline waited patiently for Santa to arrive, and did not get upset by all the noise:
W checking out the helicopter:
Then inside talking to Santa...
And here's a mean Mommy sequence...I finally made Caroline sit on Santa's lap (just this once):
First, looking to her brother for support
Then, realizing she's sitting with not only a man (she is currently afraid of ALL guys), but much less, a bearded strange man...
And finally, the real reaction. Poor C.
Happy to be back in the arms of her Aunt Ann
