Out and About: Soccer & Swinging

Today was my first day out by myself with both kids!  And I made it!  I got Wells to and from school and made it to my bible study with baby Caroline.  I'll look back in 6 months and think this was no big deal, but today it seemed like a major feat.

And this afternoon, Wells had his first soccer practice for the spring season:

"Airplane" drills with Coach Matt - Wells is on the right in the blue sweatshirt  (He's made major improvements with his listening skills/ability to follow directions since we did this last fall!).

Score!

Meanwhile, Caroline is 2 weeks old today and we could not ask for a better baby.  She continues to do what she does best:  sleeping, eating, and swinging:

Grateful

A hectic but amazing week came to an end yesterday and all I can think of is how grateful I am:
  • For Daddy who was home all week (he went back to work today - and I made it on my own - one day down!!):

  • For two happy, healthy children who are adjusting well to our new family of 4:

    Love this little smile

    And this one too!

  • For wonderful grandparents and family members who have come to town to visit and help us (GG not pictured but deserves so much credit for all the help she's given us!):

Poppy and KeKe

Mommy's godmother Meg
Aunt Susan came from California

  • And for all of our friends who have visited with us, brought dinners, and taken Wells on playdates
We are so grateful!!

Sweet Siblings

It is taking some time for Wells to warm up to his sister - but we see sweet signs of improvement every day!

As soon as we got home, GG spent some time with Caroline while Mommy & Daddy took Wells for a special outing to Yoforia:

Can't Get Enough

We are loving every minute we spend with Caroline.  Mommy & Daddy have been sitting with her and staring at her sweet sleeping face (sometimes for hours!)

I marvel at how tiny her little fingers and toes are - and have examined all of her seemingly perfect features in great detail!

Tomorrow we check out of "Hotel CMC" and head home.  I must admit that it has been so nice spending time with Matt, cuddling all day with Caroline, having family and friends visit, being surrounded by all my favorite flowers, waited on hand & foot by nurses, and sleeping all night.  Hotel CMC has treated me well and the nurses have been great to Caroline - they say she is the prettiest baby in the nursery and that all the nurses want a turn holding her when she goes for the night.

But it will be nice to be back at home, spend more time with Wells (who I've been missing so, so much!) and get back into some sense of a routine.

So we head home tomorrow - and I'm looking forward to settling in our newest family member!

Caroline is Here!!

Laura Caroline Harvey arrived this morning at 7:41 am. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and is 20 inches long.  We are so in love!!

First family shot

Head full of brown hair!!

Big brother checked her out from afar.  The jury is still out on what he thinks of his sister, but he definitely liked the cookies Daddy got him downstairs and loved his Happy Birthday Thomas that Caroline "brought" him on her birthday.

And on the agenda tomorrow:  more time with big brother and hopefully a decent picture of our family of 4!   But tonight we are so incredibly grateful for this wonderful gift and adore our new little girl :)
